Den Bosch

The Dutch seldom say 's-Hertogenbosch but rather Den Bosch. Well. i'd like to think it's only because the former is a mouthful. Den Bosch is a beautiful city, bigger than Arnhem, but has similar taste in its spread of retail outlets. I got myself a cow-print carpet to welcome me home each day, a sandwich-maker (for 8Euros only), socks and a pair of 'diamond'-studded hoop ear-rings. It was a nice setting paired with bearable weather - by far, the warmest (at 4 degrees) cos i could walk around with my coat unbuttoned. Then by 5pm, the streets are empty! amazing, but also something i'm sure i cannot live with for more than 6 months. ;)

it's snowing.

it's snowing outside right this moment and i'm all excited (and warm) indoors. ohhh its beautiful. i might be loving this so much cos i'm indoors but it could also be that i'm really appreciating the weather more than the locals!

Went to Arnhem today to walk around and do some shopping. Bought lace leggings, 2 white casual tops, and a goldish/black dress (9EUR only) from H&M. hap-py. :)

ok, i'm gonna have an early night tonight cos i had a long tiring day. goodnight!

my University, a flea market, & the city by day

i walked around with a map in my hand and consumed the beauty of the city in bright daylight and i braved the light snow shower, the chilly wind and the cold in general. :)

We're expecting more snow this weekend. We're expecting low temperatures of -5° C, -7° C and -8° C here in Amsterdam and in the North Pole (Alaska), it's -12.8° C, so we're not that far off from the experience of being there! How's that?

New Year's Eve

Here is a video of the New Year's Eve party that was held in Amsterdam, at the Museumplein (Museum Square). Painfully cold but amazingly, it snowed during the countdown party!

Also, while walking around the city, i managed to snap some photos of the city and its buildings - do look at its architecture and design - and of course, the gorgeous canals that snake through this vibrant city. I had dinner at the Turkish Doner place and it costs like 3.50euros (approximately SGD$7), and because the serving was pretty filling for me, it's not so bad.

Weather is expected to be cold too, if not colder than today, in the coming days so i guess i'm resigning to staying indoors where central heating becomes God's greatest gift.
